This delightful Sauvignon is fully dry, displaying a combination of freshly cut grass and gooseberry aromas; very fruity on the palate with a crisp and clean finish; an ideal apéritif and delicious as a foil for white meats and fish.
The family-owned winery of Klein Simonsvlei is situated on the slopes of a spectacular ridge known as Ribbokskop, a name derived from the wild buck that inhabit the area, overlooking the Paarl Valley in the heart of the Cape Winelands, 60 kilometres from Cape Town and surrounded by hundreds of indigenous species of fauna and flora. The vineyards extend over 300 hectares on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountains, with a rotation policy that means 5% of the vineyards are replanted each year.
The winery, with a cellar capacity of 100,000 cases, has been in the Joubert family for over 100 years and winemaking has now extended over three generations. Alongside winemaker Ernst Leicht, Niel Joubert and his team are committed to working only with those varieties that are best suited to the unique terroir of these vineyards in the folds of the majestic Simonsberg ranges.
